Homelessness Assistance

OneLink handles all crisis accommodation requests for people experiencing homelessness and at risk of experiencing homelessness. You can speak with OneLink on the phone to tell them your needs. You can also drop in and meet with OneLink staff located in Belconnen, or visit their website for further information.

Accommodation for Men and Women

Street to Home

St Vincent de Paul supports and accommodates people sleeping rough on the streets through their Street to Home program. The program has six units offering supported transitional accommodation for rough sleepers.

Axial Housing

The Axial Housing program uses a housing first strategy to first find long term accommodation for 32 people sleeping rough on the streets, and then provide supportive services addressing the long term issues that led to their homelessness. Catholic Care manages the program and works closely with HousingACT, St Vincent de Paul Society, the Early Morning Centre and Onelink.

Accommodation for Men

Samaritan House

St Vincent de Paul runs Samaritan House, a 13 bed crisis accommodation program for men aged between 18 and 65 years located in Hackett.

Winter Lodge

Argyle Housing manage the Winter Lodge in Ainslie for men needing to stay overnight in the winter months. Beds are available for up to 18 men and are allocated on a first come first served basis. An overnight stay can possibly be extended to a maximum of 7 nights. Referrals must be made by 5pm and doors shut at 8pm.

Men’s Accommodation and Support Service

EveryMan runs the Men’s Accommodation and Support Service program for men involved in the justice system. Accommodation is usually allocated for 12 months, and clients must participate in EveryMan’s case management and support program.

Catholic Care provides supported accommodation to men over the age of 18 through the MINOSA program. Residents can stay up to 3 months and have support to develop living and budgeting skills.

Toora House

Toora House provides a homelessness support service for women 16 years or older and accompanying children.

Women’s Supported Housing

Northside Housing First’s Women’s Supported Housing program provides supported transitional accommodation for up to a year for women with or without accompanying children.

Staying in Place

Northside Housing First’s Staying in Place program aims to support women and their families to stay in their homes when their circumstances change and put them at risk of homelessness.

MacKillop House

CatholicCare provides housing for up to 25 single women in single rooms and 6 women with their children in two bedroom villas at Mackillop House in Lyneham. Residents can stay for up to 3 months, with a possibility of an extension.

Next Door

Next Door provides housing and support services for women aged 50+ who are at risk of homelessness, helping women to either find a home or maintain an existing tenancy.

Accommodation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples


EveryMan offers Indigenous Support and Accommodation programs for people who are at risk of becoming homeless, are returning to the ACT and cannot find accommodation, and when there is a need for temporary accommodation to access services.

Laundry and Shower Service

Orange Sky Free Laundry and Shower Service

Orange Sky operates Frosty, a van providing a free laundry and shower service in a safe and supportive environment. Times and locations of the Orange Sky van stops are on their website.

Weston Creek Community Centre Free Laundry

The Weston Creek Community Centre has free washing and drying machines available Monday to Friday between 9am and 3pm. The Centre will provide the detergents you need to do a wash. You need to contact the Centre to book a time do to your wash.
