The advocacy services we deliver to older persons are being evaluated by Australian Healthcare Associates (AHA) on behalf of the Department of Health and Aged Care.
ADACAS delivers services to older persons under the National Aged Care Advocacy Program (NACAP). This is an Australian Government program that provides free and confidential advocacy support to older people and their representatives. It also helps aged care staff understand their responsibilities and the aged care rights of the people in their care.
The NACAP is managed by the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) and ADACAS is one of the nine OPAN member organisations that delivers the NACAP nationwide.

What is this evaluation about?
The evaluation is exploring how:
- NACAP services are being delivered across Australia
- effective these services are in meeting the needs of older Australians
- NACAP services could be improved in the future.
You can read an information sheet which tells you more about the evaluation and what is involved, to help you decide if you want to take part.
Completing any or all of the survey tells us that you understand the information you’ve been given about the evaluation, are willing to take part, and agree to AHA using your answers.
Who can take part in the evaluation?
If you have received information, advocacy, education, or a Home Check In from a NACAP service provider you are invited to take part. Everyone who completes the survey will have the chance to go into a draw for a $50 gift card.
Participating in this evaluation is voluntary. If you don’t wish to take part, you don’t have to. If you do decide to take part, you can change your mind at any time.
How to complete the evaluation
You can fill out the evaluation until 11:59 pm (AEDT) on 31 March 2024. It will take about 10 to 15 minutes and you can ask someone you trust to help you.
Where can I get more information?
More information about the project is available on the AHA’s website. You can also email the project team if you have any questions.
