ADACAS was established in 1991 and is a company limited by guarantee. The ADACAS Board has seven Directors comprising of senior public servants, accountants and individuals with strategic, academic and lived experience.
The ADACAS Board provides strategic guidance and effective oversight of management. The Board recognises its fiduciary and financial responsibilities, and its role in overseeing the policies and processes that reflect good corporate governance aligned to the ACNC Governance Standards, our contractual commitments and stakeholder expectations that together with our values inform and guide the organisation.
Bridget Browne
Bridget Browne, FIAA, CERA
Bridget was appointed Chair of the ADACAS Board in June 2025 after her retirement as a Partner with Ernst & Young in 2024.
Bridget is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia and Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary, currently a Senior Actuary with the Australian Government Actuary and a Senior Lecturer in Actuarial Studies at the Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Statistics at the Australian National University.
She has worked on disability and aged care issues for over 20 years, including supporting the NDIA, the Departments of Social Services and of Health and Aged Care, the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority and the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.
Wendy Prowse GAICD
Our Chief Executive Officer
Wendy joined ADACAS as the CEO in December 2020 following an extensive career in executive and senior management roles across the finance, health and community sector. She has an established track record in strategy, business development, corporate governance, marketing, people and culture, organisational change management, social impact and policy.
An experienced non-executive director, Wendy spent 6 years on the Australian Red Cross Board and is currently the Chair of DANA (peak body for Disability Advocacy), Deputy Chair of the ACT Inclusion Council and Deputy Chair of the Ministerial Advisory Council on Ageing.
Being passionate about inclusion and equity, Wendy initiated the co-design project that delivered the first dementia friendly and disability accessible branch for Beyond Bank and saw Beyond Bank be the first Dementia Friendly Bank in the ACT. She has provided consultancy service to new and mature NGO’s supporting them with their governance, people and culture and strategic plans.
Wendy is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Canberra.
