Board & Governance

ADACAS was established in 1991 and is a company limited by guarantee.  The ADACAS Board has seven Directors comprising of senior public servants, accountants and individuals with strategic, academic and lived experience.

The ADACAS Board provides strategic guidance and effective oversight of management.  The Board recognises its fiduciary and financial responsibilities, and its role in overseeing the policies and processes that reflect good corporate governance aligned to the ACNC Governance Standards, our contractual commitments and stakeholder expectations that together with our values inform and guide the organisation.

Bridget Browne, FIAA, CERA

Bridget was appointed Chair of the ADACAS Board in June 2025 after her retirement as a Partner with Ernst & Young in 2024.

Bridget is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia and Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary, currently a Senior Actuary with the Australian Government Actuary and a Senior Lecturer in Actuarial Studies at the Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Statistics at the Australian National University.

She has worked on disability and aged care issues for over 20 years, including supporting the NDIA, the Departments of Social Services and of Health and Aged Care, the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority and the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.

Our Chief Executive Officer

Wendy joined ADACAS in December 2020 having held various senior management positions in the finance, health and community sectors, working for national as well as local Canberra organisations. She has experience working in the commercial and not for profit sector.

Her passion and dedication to social justice and human rights has underpinned all her working and volunteer roles.  Wendy has held various non-executive board director positions and is currently a Board Director for the Australian Red Cross.

Wendy is a member of the ACT Government’s Inclusion Council, a member of the ACT Ministerial Advisory Council on Ageing, a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders.
